A guide for Together We Run: Charlottesville 2018

How does this all work? What even is a runathon?

Why Wake up early and Run?

You don’t want to miss the second annual Together We Run: Charlottesville runathon. We are running together, as friends, family, students and Charlottesville community members to raise money for the Heather Heyer Foundation.

“The Foundation has established a scholarship program to provide financial assistance to individuals passionate about positive social change. Scholarships will be awarded to those seeking a degree or certification in, but not limited to, law, paralegal studies, social work, social justice, and education. Help us make a difference, and as Heather had often quoted ‘If you’re not outraged you’re not paying attention’ (Unknown)”

What if running is not my thing?

While this event is considered a “runathon,” we welcome people of all abilities to be part of the Together We Run: Charlottesville event. All who register will be able to raise money through an anython page regardless of choosing to run/walk. We welcome all people to show up in any capacity: to support, to walk, to run, to cheer-- anything!

I’m convinced, Now What?

Register to participate! Follow the link on the upper right hand corner of this page. Or click here. All funds raised from the cost of registration will go to the Heather Heyer Foundation.

If registering is a financial burden, please register for the runathon by clicking here.

How Do I Get people to Pledge per Mile I run?

After registering to run, you will be sent a link to create an anython account. You can then send out your page to friends and family to get pledges and donations. Click here to create an anython account if you can’t find your email with the link.

How does the runathon work?

Simply bring yourself and your running shoes to Mad Bowl Field on Nov. 4th around 8:45 to be ready to run at 9am. We will give you route directions (loop will be about a mile). You can run as much as you want. There will be someone recording how many loops/miles your run for the purposes of raising donations if you friends and family pledged per mile.

Or, hang around to cheer your friends on, try on your new TWR t-shirt, and eat some food!
